Treatment for congested pores
Treatment for Congested Pores
There is no one perfect method to treat congested pores, get rid of blackheads and whiteheads and decrease the chances of acne outbreak. Types of treatments is subjective to skin type and condition. We have come up with some generic rules in keeping pores clear and healthy.
Let’s start with the most basic – cleansing. It is strongly adviced to cleanse your skin twice daily with water-based cleanser. Cleanser that contains peppermint oil allows for deep cleansing and imparts a refreshing sensation. Avoid using hot water as it can irritate the skin and can lead to increased sebum production. Cleanser with micro-beads can also be considered as the gentle massaging assists in unclogging the pores.
Look for Zinc Sulfate in the ingredients list the next time you’re making a skincare purchase. This ingredient helps to tackle excess sebum, controls surface shine and helps in illuminating your facial appearance.
Use a mattifying mask to ease irritation, reduce pore size and balance skin tone. Consistent usage will result in visibly smaller pores.
It is very important that you do not repetitively touch, scrub, or pick at your skin, in an attempt to remove small irregularities. This problem more commonly known as Skin Picking Disorder is serious and yet, not much awareness and literature is made available on this issue. In more severe cases, permanent consequences such as disfigurement and tissue damage are visible.
